Goodness it sure has been a trying year so far. I am glad January is behind me and that February is here. In the last two months I have been through hell and back and have lived to tell about it to.

I have had bronchitis, nasal surgery, moved out of the bf’s house had a fire in my apt and my son has been sick somewhere in the middle of that as well. I got my car stereo stolen the same night I had to take him to the hospital. I got a call Tuesday night saying my mom has been admitted to the hospital due to a heart attack and come to find out she has high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes and of course coronary heart disease. They found a blockage in her heart and had to put a stint in it.
Ok now my heart isnt bleeding for her she did this to herself. All of her years of smoking and bad dietary habits and not doing anything but sitting on her ass have brought all of this on her all on her own. I can’t feel sorry for someone who has trashed there body. I work everyday to live what I preach to the best of my abilities. I work out depsite my hand injury, I watch what I eat despite my limited income, if I can damn well do it so can other people. Including my family. Other than my BMI being slightly over what is considered normal my numbers straight across the board look awesome. I keep this up and I will live to see 100.
Now more than ever I am determined to take my fight against obesity even more serious than I already have. I am going to make sure folks get to live as long as they possibly can and have the richest and fullest life possible. By richest I don’t mean have a ton of money. I mean rich as in being able to have more oppurtunity to do what they want because they are healthier to do the things they dream of doing. I am living my dream right now of going to college for my doctorate and I am not letting anything stand in my way. I have gone to class everyday in the midst of all the recent negative life events going on in my life.

I plan on being the female version of Dr Phil I will tell it like it is and not sugar coat anything. I will not hand hold or enable anyone. You have got to have the genuine desire to change your life and to really know that your at zero hour and ready to make that change if your not ready to get real then I can’t be of any help to you until you are ready to help yourself.
I am doing a project this semester to show that a person who is on low income and foodstamps can eat healthy and show how they can do it by reading labels, and proper healthy food preperation techniques.
I would love to help anyone out there learn what I have and to be able to apply it to their daily lives as I have been doing the last three years.
Give me a shout I would love to hear from you.
Have a good one.
Joe
