My friend Carol Deckert asked me a question today that was a legitimate question. What can one use my frames for?
Say you run a digital art site and you have a great picture, but you want to dress it up a bit and make it stand out. Here is an example of how a picture can be dressed up using a frame.
The frame around my grandmothers pic makes the picture look formal and makes the picture stand out due to it’s gold coloring. It also compliments the coloring in my grandmothers outfit.
I have this movie frame I used for my signature design and avatar I use around the internet.
Last but not least I had to submit a picture for a Member of the Week nomination and I used this rough edged white frame to accent the picture.
Digitally created picture frames can have many uses if you want to spruce up your pictures and also if you want to add some spice to your site. Even if you run a professional site a nice digital picture frame that looks similar to the one in my grandmothers picture above can really make your picture stand out and look professional.
These frames are frames that are found standard in Paint Shop Pro. I have some pictures in my album over at Flickr that I have used frames that I have created just click on my Flickr badge in the right side bar to be directed to my album .
I decided to re-visit one of my favorite graphics tutorial sites tonight to see if I could finally nail the glass frame tutorial. I was very pleased with my final result.
I put this together for my main site and message board tonight and I thought it looked really good it took me less than 15 minutes to make because I knew what look I was going for. I have been doing a site redesign and clean up over at my main weight loss portal site and I have to say for only being able to use free to use resources found via Tripod and what I have and I think it has turned out really good. I like the vertical navigation bar as opposed to the horizontal one I had up there.
I am doing a slight redesign of my message board too to match the new banner.
I am also going to be working on making some new paint shop pro frames after my son goes back to school.I encourage you do stay tuned for that I have what I hope are some fresh ideas.
I have also been going back to my favorite gradient trick site and seeing what else I can experiment with.
I learned how to make frames from a great tutorial found on nansonsplace.com. The fact that the process really is such an easy one just amazed me. I could spend hours making frames now that I know how to do them. You can make frames with textures,patterns,solid colors,gradients,tubes and brush art. Some I have made with patterns, some with gradients and some a combination of tubes and gradients or tubes and patterns. After revisiting nansonsplace I also noticed that you can add layers to frames too. I will try this some time and see what kind of results I get. For now please enjoy these frames and I hope you take some, but please make sure I get credit for them. Please credit them Wildheart’s Works wherever you use them.
I will give you the link to nansonsplace since I am not sure if copying and pasting their tutorial would qualify as a “Quick Guide” as per their TOU. To add my frames to your paint shop pro program simply right click on the frame you want, click save as, go to your paint shop pro files, find your frames folder click on it and your done. I know for the seasoned paint shop pro user this is a no brainer but there are those who like myself were paint shop newbies at one time that need step by step how to do things.
