I tried this tutorial I found on a MSN group a very long time ago now it seems. It is from Delilah Designs. I tried to unzip all the supplies for it but most of them were unaccessible so this is the best I could do I kind of like it. I threw a gradient in for back ground and then added the jagged edges style picture frame.
The thing I like about paint shop pro is that it is so easy to make a color block. Well I love paint shop pro for so many other things but this is just yet another reason to love it. Here are three examples of what I came up with in regards to a triad color scheme. I just opened a new image, took my color picker and made invisible triangular fields with my color wheel. Then I used the flood fill tool and the deform tool to get the layers of colors. The last step was to merge flatten before I .jpeg’d optimized the images. That is kind of a critical step to make sure your images are merged flattened or when you go to .jpeg optimize it you will get this grey box telling you some kind of error message.
Here are the tiles I made:
One other thing I want to mention and I am not sure if I have yet is that you need to make sure you set your compression rate to 1 when you .jpeg optimize an image or you will get .jpeg artifacts on your image tomorrow I will demonstrate the importance of this step.
Yesterday I showed you how to use complimentary colors in a few tiles made from paint shop pro. Today I want to show you what analogous colors look like in the orb design here:
I went one further with this experiment when I originally created these and manipulated them using the kaliedoscope effect which can be found in your effects tab on the tool bar that rests along the top of your paint shop pro workspace.
I could have just kept going in making these I love making kaleidoscopes. You may use these but please save them to your own hard drive so you don’t use my bandwith. Thank You!
So I decided to use my paint shop pro program to demonstrate how to make complimentary color combinations.
Complimentary colors are found on opposing sides of the color wheel. A color wheel is used commonly in artwork and in determining what paint to color your house.
Complimentary pairs are colors that contrast each other on the color wheel.
Analogous colors create a harmonious color scheme while triad colors organize colors in regard to purity, using triangular points on the color wheel.
I am going to demonstrate how I used complimentary colors in these three tiles
Tomorrow I will demonstrate some tiles using the triad color scheme and the analogous color scheme.
Today has been a very productive day for me here on this blog. I managed to get all of the key things Yaro mentions installed on my blog and ready to go. I have all of the plug in’s on board and I also figured out why my FTP client wasn’t working with me. I had to disable the firewall on here in order to get my FTP client to connect to my server. It is a bigger learning curve when you have to learn how to do technical stuff entirely on your own as opposed to having someone do it for you like Sarah Lewis did for me with Kansans and Friends In Weight Loss. She had the skeletal system of my blog set up I just had to fill it in with my own tweaks.
I just wanted to let the new followers here know that I am here and working behind the scenes to get all of my eggs in one basket so I can start focusing on content creation and marketing.
I am going to start applying the lessons I have been learning with Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind Program to my new home here on the net. On his first audio in lesson one he talks about branding and picking a domain name.
He asks the question “Can you establish a brand with your domain name?”
I like to think I have established a great brand with my domain name. Wildheart’s Works has been doing very well since I decided to really get serious about promoting it and nurturing it. I know that my move off of blogger has kind of threw my traffic off a bit but it is picking up again and I am still getting searched fairly well on Google.
He suggests that you use one or two keywords in your domain selection. I never researched Wildheart’s Works when I first set it up I decided to just go with what struck my creative side in the most genuine and natural way. However, you can go to Google, Word Tracker, talk to people and use Overture keyword selection tool which are all free tools to use.
He recommends going with a .com if at all possible, but he also says that you can use .org and .net to get a good looking domain name. Actually a .org would be more appropriate for an organization like a non profit organization. He also talks about using a location such as .ca or.uk
One other things he talks about is using anchor text that is relevant to people and search engines.
This evening I want to give thanks to God for giving me the brains to learn what I have with computers. Through all of my hard work and diligence I have secured a job as the audio visual person on the campus ministry staff at Washburn University. I was not expecting to land a paying position doing this but I didn’t turn it down either. I do need the money. I love doing volunteer work , but I also want to get paid for work I really know how to do and do well. I am not sure how much the pay is going to be, but if I don’t have to tap into my savings account anymore than I need to then I can save up for a newer used car with air conditioning and seat belts that work on both sides. I don’t care if it has a stereo I will use the one I have now and just transfer it over.
I truly believe things happen for a reason. I really do. I also believe that if you have enough faith in yourself to do what needs to be done then things can and will happen for you. The Lord does help them who help themselves. I am living proof of that. I have fought and fought my way to where I am now and I will continue to fight to get to where I want to be. I won’t settle for anything less than I know what I can achieve.
I made this back ground awhile back and thought that it still held meaning even today and this week as we remember the events of 9/11. Patriotism is something that should never go out of style. We should always remember those who risk their lives for our freedoms. We should also remember those who inevitably get put in the line of fire in the pursuit of our American Dream.
This was made using some tiles I had and then I used the seamless tile tool in paint shop pro 9 to give it the multiple imaging effect. Feel free to snag it and use them for your own design creations.
