I was checking out new op’s over at SocialSpark.com and found http://sunegrl72.blogspot.com/

At the top of her blog is an orange text box with a link to PYZAM a site that has free blogger templates and also free graphics,backgrounds, and widgets for your MySPace page or Hi5 page. I chose to make this just cause I am a sucker for hearts and glitter and I like to see my domain name in lights so-to-speak. The fact that their html code works with my Word Press blog is an added bonus.

More Free Textures

Here are two more free textures for paint shop pro and photoshop. I did both this past week. One was just playing around with my texture effects in paint shop pro and the other I was trying to follow a turorial from BittBox.com

Have a Happy 4th of July

I hope you enjoyed the 4th of July backgrounds I made in my last post. I worked this evening on this little design. Just to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July.

Also please take some time this week to remember our fallen hero’s present and past who have given their lives so that we may always be a free country. I want to say that even though there seems to be alot wrong with this country at the moment we still have a unique spirit as a whole that sets us apart from every other nation out there. When we struggle during extraordinary circumstances, communities rise above and pull together to help each other out. This is one reason I am still proud to be an American. Even here in my town when I am struggling with something my friends help me out as best as they can.

Fourth of July Backgrounds made in Paint Shop Pro

My favorite holiday of the year is coming up and I can’t wait. I am going to be making some backgrounds in the coming days to celebrate The 4th of July. I absolutely love this holiday. I like to be outside and cook out on the grill, blow up fireworks and just let loose.

My Favorite Photo

I belong to a site called SocialSpark.com and there was this what they call opportunity that I was qualified for and as the person who created the opportunity has a blog related to photography I figured this would be a good way to do a reciprocal designer helping designer kind of thing.

I have to say I really like the sea line photos she picked.

So now on to my favorite photo and why I chose this one.

As many of my readers probably know by know I am a huge Ford Mustang fanatic. A friend of mine was attending a car show here in town and a few days after he IM’d me over on Yahoo and told me about the show and sent me the pics of the Mustangs that were there. I really liked the Stang lettering on the side of the front quarter panel. I asked him if I could crop and resize the images he sent me and so I cropped this one up to really bring out the details of the lettering. You can also see the metallic flecks in the paint as well as some of the surface dirt. I tried to crop this as flush to the lettering as I could for the maximum impact.

I have many favorite Mustang pics but this one is still my favorite one by far.

Growth Creating Space Scapes with Paint Shop Pro

Tonight I have been trying my hand at creating another space scape and I think this latest one has shown some growth as a digital designer versus the first one I ever attempted. I was able to nail the starry space sky a little better and I was also able to create a better planet surface with this one. I used the effects>artistic effects>balls and bubbles>single ball to give the planet a water surface look. I also used the illumination effects>sunburst to make it look like the star in the upper left hand corner was more illuminating the planet. I then used adjust>soften>soft focus and used the same presets that I using for my post for this week over at Scraps of Mind.

I like how the soften effect gave the space kind of a semi cloudy effect but you can still see the stars almost like a gaseous effect.

4th of July Banner I Made Last Year.

My banner celebrating my favorite holiday of the year The 4th of July.

I made it using sg_red and dark gradient that I found over at nansonsplace.com. Then, I chose load save mask from the layers drop down menu and the again with the layers menu I chose merge all layers flatten. I used Old Glory tubes scaled at 25% and added my watermark. The font was made from a dbaw_blackred gradient and I am not sure if it came with the program or if I also got it from nansonsplace.com. I then added a drop shadow and then merged all layers and flattened it again.
